The organisation
Cap'Able is an association aiming at promoting a positive vision of disability raising awareness on initiatives taken by and/or in favour of disabled people worldwide.
The project: "Yes we cap!"
So as to reach their objective, the instigators of the project Isaline and Alexia, decided to take to the roads to discover the world of disability and meet with disabled people capable of changing things, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
With a few months ahead of them and a great deal of curiosity, they took their backpacks as well as a good camera to travel the world, from mountains to valleys, and produce written and audio-visual reports. By doing so, they wish to witness and communicate on these positive initiatives which contribute to improve the situation of disabled people throughout the world.
From january to august 2012, they met people involved in the field of disabilities, project initiators whose testimonies enable us to better understand the situation of disability in different parts of the globe, and produced portraits reports to debrief on these encounters.

Age: 26
Title: Vice President of Cap'Able Origin: Belgium Particularities: sportive, dynamic and smart, all in one! Likes: the open air, meeting new people, making jokes. Career: B.A in physical education with a major in physical therapy (Louvain la Neuve University, Belgium). Master degree in "intervention et gestion en activité physique adaptée", with a specialisation in "Tourism and Leisure activities for disabled people" (University Lyon 1 and Strasbourg). Numerous professional and volunteering works as educator for mentally disabled people. |
Alexia Veriter
Age: 27
Title: President of Cap'Able (and maybe of the Republic some day) Origin: Belgium, France, Poland Particularities: nice, joyful and smart, all in one! Likes: Life, Travels, Balkan region, good food. Career: Master degree in Geography with a first specialisation in Development Aid and a second specialisation in Cultural Geography (University Paris IV - Sorbonne). She is currently doing a B.A degree in Serbo-Croatian at INALCO (French National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilisations). She has lived and worked for 4 years in a specialised foster care center for multiply handicapped young adults. |
